Basic Sailing is taught on J/24 sailboats in New York Harbor.

Our instructors are trained professionals who specialize in communicating the concepts of sailing in a relaxed and informative manner. 

Each course is limited to 4 students per instructor. You will get plenty of personalized attention and hands-on experience.

After graduating, you have many options about how to continue sailing. 

You will have a fun graduation ceremony onboard the Floating Classroom at the end of your course.

You can also challenge the American Sailing Association Basic Sailing Standard if you wish to get certified.

Locations

We teach Basic Sailing from 3 locations, North Cove in Manhattan, Shipyard Marina in Hoboken and Liberty Harbor in Jersey City.

Tuition & Discounts

The tuition for Basic Sailing varies by location.  North Cove is our premium facility and school headquarters.  Tuition at each location is as follows:

• North Cove, Manhattan - $590
• Shipyard Marina in Hoboken - $520
• Liberty Harbor in Jersey City - $520

There are also group discounts for 2 or more people.

Schedule Changes, Refunds & Money Back Guarantee

Because course spots are limited, students pay their tuition when they sign up.  However, you can change or cancel your reservation up until 2 weeks before a course.  Within the final 2 weeks, there is a $50 charge to reschedule or cancel. 

If you cancel a course prior to two weeks of your class, we will refund you the tuition less $25 for course materials.
