Day 2 - Clifton Harbor (Happy Island)

Let's meet again tomorrow evening in Clifton Harbor.  Or that's at least what was said at the first Skipper's Meeting before people pushed off from Canouan.  But the wind was blowing so hard that the fleet was scattered into all sorts of locations, including the upwind locations of Mustique and Bequia!  Very brave sailors.

Thos who got to Clifton were treated with a fabulous green market ashore.  At least 6 stands selling fresh fruits and vegetables.  Be sure to buy something at every stand.  And extra provisions to make up for some of the items forgotten.

As the sun was getting lower in the sky, the dinghies took to the water from the various anchoring locations and began motoring towards a common goal - Happy Island.  This tiny island has been built on the reef from conch shells and concrete.  Apparently no one told Janti the proprietor that people might be showing up.  After the 50th person came ashore, he was a bit concerned by there were not many provisions on the island.  Not to worry because we had brought extra rum just in case.

Then there was the other challenge of Janti having just started to mix a fresh batch of concrete.  Not to worry because Jean-Yves took up the shovel and began to mix the concrete.  A work crew was formed to carry the shells and before long, the new section of wall was poured with expert precision.

Later that evening, we discovered Lambi's which had a steel drum band playing.  Great stop next time for a full flotilla gathering with dancing.
